The holiday hiring season is kicking into high gear.
The latest figures show retailers are hiring an additional 780,000 seasonal workers this year.
That figure is up about 30 percent over last year.
Analysts say about 45 percent of those workers are students and the remainder are a mixture of retirees and experienced workers who aren't yet retirement age.
Indiana Department of Workforce Development Spokesman Joe Frank says holiday retail sales are the bedrock of economic growth.
