Pence announces School Security Grants



Governor Mike Pence has announced more than nine-million dollars in matching grants to local schools and school corporations to improve school safety.

Barr Reeve Community Schools received 15-thousand dollars and North Daviess received 50-thousand to purchase school security equipment.

Washington Community Schools received 50-thousand dollars for a school resource officer.

In Martin County, the Shoals Community School Corporation received nearly 30-thousand dollars and Loogootee Community Schools $25,000 for security equipment.

In Knox County, the North Knox and Vincennes School Corporations received fifty-thousand dollars each for school security equipment, and to employ an SRO.

In Greene County, the Bloomfield School District received 35-thousand dollars for school security equipment.

Shakamak received 15-thousand for school security equipment and to employ an SRO.

White River Valley School District received ten-thousand dollars to employ an SRO.

In Dubois County, the Northeast Dubois County School Corporation received $14,650 for school security equipment.

Southeast Dubois received over 97-hundred dollars for school security equipment.

And Southwest Dubois County School Corporation received 15-thousand for school security equipment.

In Gibson County, East Gibson School Corporation received just over 10-thousand dollars to employ an SRO.

North Gibson received 50-thousand for school security equipment and to employ an SRO.
