Ultra-Light Aircraft Crashes into Tree in Orange County
The pilot and passenger of an ultra-light aircraft were successfully rescued Friday evening after the aircraft crashed into a tree in Orange County and became lodged in the tree top.
State conservation officers say once the aircraft was secured, an Orange County REMC bucket truck with a 60 foot boom was used to rescue the two men.
The pilot, 65-year-old James Cutler of Winslow, and his passenger, 59-year-old Richard Yahraus of Corydon escaped injury.
The crash is under investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the FAA.
