Site Chosen for SW Indiana Fertilizer Plant

Southwestern Indiana may be the new home for a controversial, two-billion dollar fertilizer plant.

Midwest Fertilizer Corporation is seeking zoning approval from Posey County officials for a 219-acre site near Mount Vernon.

The project has faced some battles to locate in Indiana.

Governor Pence withdrew state incentives for the plant earlier this year because fertilizer made by Pakistan-based parent company Fatima Group was used in bombs in Afghanistan that killed American troops.
