Fallen Indianapolis Police Officer To Be Laid To Rest This Week
Fallen Indianapolis Police Officer Rod Bradway will be laid to rest this week.
Officer Bradway's funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Bradway was shot and killed Friday while responding to a domestic violence call.
Robert Golder, the uncle of the woman saved by Bradway, says Bradway went "above and beyond the call of duty."
The alleged shooter, Steven Byrdo, was also killed.
He had a number of drug-related arrests and was just released from prison in June.
Meanwhile, the person who gave or sold Byrdo the gun he allegedly used to kill Bradway could go to prison.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett says it's against federal law for felons to buy or possess guns, and it's illegal to transfer a gun to a felon.
Hogsett says he doesn't know if investigators have traced where the gun came from yet.
