State Trooper and Motorist Collide



No one was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when an Indiana State Trooper collided with a van occupied by a Missouri couple

Police say Trooper Matthew Aimes had his emergency lights activated while attempting to catch a speeding vehicle on State Road 46 in Clay County.

Trooper Aimes was attempting to pass a van on the left when the van slowed down and turned left in front of him.

Trooper Aimes' SUV hit the van in the right rear.

The occupants of the van, Bill and Hazel Tripp of Ellington, Missouri, were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment of possible minor injuries.

Trooper Aimes was not injured.

No citations were issued.
