(Vincennes, IN)-- The Knox County Commissioners have approved on first reading a proposed expansion of the U-S 41 Industrial Park. The expansion will add 48 acres to the current site, and allow for more business development on the property.
Knox County Development Corporation director Gary Gentry is requesting the rezoning, from agricultural land to I-2 industrial. Gentry says the move will ensure the County's industrial development for the next ten years. The rezoning will be considered by the Knox County Area Plan Commission on Tuesday, October first.
In other business, the Commissioners renewed the County's phone contract with A-T and T. The new three-year contract was approved at rates similar to the current contract. The overall contract will be for just under 21-hundred dollars per month.
Finally, the Commissioners renewed a contract with Good Samaritan Hospital for continued health screenings. The screenings will take place at a charge of 31 dollars per participant. The battery of diagnostic tests will ensure good health in all County workers for the next year.
