Former Petersburg Mayor Quits Indiana Office of Community, Rural Affairs
Two of Indiana's top rural development officials, including former Petersburg Mayor Jon Craig, have resigned after less than nine months on the job.
Craig, who served as Deputy Director, along with Rural Affairs Director Dax Norton both resigned August 29th.
The Indianapolis Star reports both wrote brief, handwritten letters of resignation on notebook paper.
Norton said in his letter that he had decided to pursue other interests.
State personnel office spokeswoman Ashley Hungate tells The Indianapolis Business Journal that Craig did not offer a reason for leaving.
