Truck Driver Arrested after Battering Truck Stop Employee
Indiana State Police arrested a Pennsylvania truck driver Tuesday morning for hitting an employee of the Pilot Truck Stop on US 41 near Haubstadt with his semi.
Authorities say 43-year-old Edward Raber of Sharon, Pennsylvania left the store after taking a shower without paying, defecating in the shower stall and pushing an employee who confronted him about it.
The employee and two other employees went outside to take pictures of Raber’s semi tractor trailer as it was leaving the parking lot.
However, Raber then drove back into the lot directly toward the employees.
Two employees jumped out of the way.
However, the third employee, was hit by the tractor’s front bumper.
He refused medical treatment.
Raber was stopped by police after he fled the scene southbound on US 41.
He is facing preliminary charges of Criminal Recklessness with a Vehicle; Reckless Driving; Battery and Trespassing.
