Knox Co. Benefiting from Vigo County Jail's Overpopulation Problems

45 inmates from the Vigo county Jail were transferred to the Knox County Jail this week due to a lawsuit over overcrowding in the Vigo County Jail.

Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says Knox County will profit from having the extra space for the new arrivals...

He says the county has the space and the extra inmates bring in $2,000 a day.

Prior to the arrival of the Vigo County inmates, the Knox County jail was holding twelve inmates from the Indiana Department of Corrections in addition to its regular inmate population.
