Lyme Disease More Common in the U-S than Originally Thought.

Lyme Disease is more common in the United States than originally thought.

According to the C-D-C, about 300 thousand people are infected each year.

That's 10 times the number previously believed to suffer from the tick-borne disease.

Illinois State Veterinarian Connie Austin says if you're outdoors in woodsy areas, it's important to check every few hours for ticks.

Lyme disease is most common in the northeast and Midwest, but has been found all over the country.

Symptoms include a bulls eye shaped rash, fever, fatigue and joint and muscle pain.
