The Federal Highway Administration has approved the use of federal funds for Indiana's I-69 Section 5 development. The state is now allowed to use federal money to complete design work and acquire property for Section 5 that includes upgrading about 21 miles of four-lane, divided S.R. 37 to interstate standards. The project includes seven interchanges and five overpasses from just south of Bloomington to just south of S.R. 39 in Martinsville.
