Evansville Man Receives Bullet Wound While Hunting

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an incident Thursday morning in the Hovey Lake Fish and Wildlife Area in Posey County in which a hunter was shot in the back of the head.

Authorities say 64-year-old Michael Edwards and 53-year-old Roy Hall, both from Evansville, were squirrel hunting when Hall shot at a squirrel on a nearby tree.

The bullet ricocheted off the tree and creased the back of Edward's head.

Edwards was treated by medical personnel at the scene, but declined further treatment.

However, he later admitted himself to Deaconess Hospital.
