Jacksons Sentenced To Prison Terms For Stealing Campaign Funds

After being sentenced to 30 months in prison for looting his campaign fund, former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. said he still believes in the power of forgiveness and the power of redemption.

His wife, former Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson was sentenced to 12-months in prison for failing to pay taxes on the money they converted to their personal use.

Both Jacksons wept as they apologized to the court, but the judge said neither Jackson's bipolar disorder nor the plight of their children was reason to grant probation.

Jesse Jackson Jr. will serve is sentence first, allowing Sandi to remain with their two children before beginning her prison term.
