Illinois Governor Sued Over Pay Cuts

Despite a court challenge, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is standing by his decision to veto state lawmaker's pay until they pass a pension reform bill.

The governor cut money from the state budget meant for legislative salaries…saying members shouldn't get paid until they do their jobs and come up with a pension reform plan.

House speaker Mike Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton have filed a lawsuit in response, but Quinn says he made the right move.

Madigan and Cullerton argue the governor's veto was purely political and unconstitutional.
