Small Plane Crashes into Columbus, IN Home



A small plane crashed into a Columbus, Indiana home Thursday morning.

Witnesses say they knew from the sound of the plane that it was in trouble.



The plane had just taken off from the Columbus Airport a few miles away.

The house was extensively damaged by a fire that broke out after the crash

Authorities says the pilot Gerald Clayton and passenger Dennis King, both of Columbus are inn serious condition with burns at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.

The FAA says the single-engine plane was built from a kit and registered to Clayton.

No one inside the house was injured.
