Vincennes Trash Pick-Up Changes

The Vincennes Board of Works voted Monday to approve two major changes to trash and recycling pickup.

Trash collection will be increased from four to five days a week and recyclables will be collected on the first and third weeks of each month.

No sorting will be required.

Meanwhile, City Street and Sanitation Department Superintendent Bryce Anderson requested a new trash packer truck.

Anderson says the new packer is needed, since both current packer trucks are getting older.

Up until recently, the city had been relying solely on its new automated trash truck.

The changes are being made to make trash collection more efficient.

The move follows the city council's decision not to privatize city trash pick-up.
