Indiana Suspends Vanity Plates over Free Speech Suit

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is suspending their Personalized License Plate Program.

Commissioner Scott Waddell says the program is being suspended pending the results of a class action lawsuit challenging certain aspects of the program.

People currently with plates will be able to keep and renew those plates.

However, the BMV will not accept new applications for personalized license plates effective immediately.
