Weisheit Sentenced to Death

A Clark County judge sentenced an Evansville man to death Thursday for his conviction in a 2010 house fire in Vanderburgh County that killed his fiancée's two children.

Judge Daniel Moore sentenced 37-year-old Jeffrey Weisheit on Thursday, following the sentence unanimously recommended by a jury last month.

Weisheit was found guilty of murder and arson in the April 2010 deaths of 5-year-old Caleb Lynch and 8-year-old Alyssa Lynch.

The trial was moved to Jeffersonville, due to pre-trial publicity.
