Illinois Adopts Concealed Carry Law

Illinois is joining the rest of the country in allowing residents to carry a concealed firearm.

State lawmakers easily overrode the governor's amendatory veto of concealed carry legislation.

Senate minority leader Christine Radogno says the bipartisan backed bill strikes a fair balance and can be tweaked later.

The Illinois State Police have six months to set up a permitting process.

In order to carry, you must have a Firearms Owner's Identification Card, undergo 16 hours of training, and pay 150 dollars.
