Vincennes: Water/Sewer Extension Delayed

The latest extension of water and sewer lines to the U-S 41 Industrial Park has hit a snag, with the discovery of a sandstone deposit near the under-construction Farbest plant.

The water and sewer extension is being funded by a federal E-D-A grant, and is being administered by the Knox County Development Corporation.

The sandstone discovery will delay the final installation of the lines to the turkey-processing plant.

K-C-D-C director Gary Gentry says contingency plans are in place to service the plant, despite the delay in the main line extension.

Gentry says the delay will not affect the Farbest plant's planned opening at the beginning of next year.

The water and sewer line extension will benefit the Farbest plant, as well as areas surrounding the plant in and around the U-S 41 Industrial Park.
