Daviess Co. Jobless Rate Rises in May



Daviess County’s unemployment rate rose by seven-tenths percent in May.

The county’s jobless rate jumped from 5.5 to 6.2 percent from April to May.

May’s jobless rate was eight tenths percent higher than May of 2012.

Knox County’s rate increased by an identical amount from April to May; from six to six-point-seven percent.

Martin County’s unemployment rate stood at 6.5 percent in May, a half percent higher than April.

Greene County’s unemployment rate held steady at 9.6 percent.

Sullivan County’s rate increased slightly from April’s 10.7 to 11 percent in May.

Pike County’s unemployment rate jumped over one-percent from 6.9 to 8.2 percent.

Dubois’s County’s jobless rate was 5.7 percent, a half percent higher than April.

Gibson County’s unemployment rate jumped from 6.6 percent in April to 7 percent in May.

Indiana's unemployment rate fell two-tenths percent inmay to 8.3 percent.
