Juror Replaced in Weisheit Murder Trial

A judge has replaced a juror in the murder trial of a Vanderburgh County man accused of setting a fire in 2010 that killed his fiancée's two children.

The juror was removed after one the juror's relatives brought a note to the courtroom in Jeffersonville where 37-year-old Jeffrey Weisheit is being tried on murder and arson charges.

The judge denied defense lawyers' motion for a mistrial, and instead replaced the juror with an alternate.

The bodies of 8-year-old Alyssa Lynch and 5-year-old Caleb Lynch were found inside the Vanderburgh County home Weisheit shared with the children's mother, Lisa Lynch.
