Indiana Conservation Officers say alcohol appears to have been a factor in a Sunday night ATV accident on a Dubois County road in which a Jasper man was injured. Authorities say 24-year-old Daniel Hedinger failed to negotiate a curve on County Road 450 South near the community of Duff and ran off the roadway. Hedinger was thrown from the ATV when it hit a pile of gravel. Although injured, Hedinger was able to ride to a nearby residence to call for medical assistance. He was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital and then transferred to St Mary’s in Evansville where he is being treated for leg and internal injuries. The accident remains under investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, conservation officers will turn the case over to the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of alcohol related charges.
