Toyota Indiana Hiring 90 More Production Team Members
Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana will hire another 90 production team members by the end of July in preparation for the all-new Toyota Highlander later this year, as well as hybrid and export models.
By the end of July, Toyota Indiana will have hired 446 production team members, 46 more than planned when the 400-million-dollar Highlander expansion was announced in February 2012.
Toyota says it needs the additional staffing because of continued strong sales of the current Highlander model and anticipated strong demand for the next generation.
The Gibson County plant also will build the midsize sport utility vehicle for the Australian and Russian regions and hybrid models.
The expansion will increase Highlander production by 50,000 units.
