Illinois Lawmakers Unable to Reach an Agreement on Pension Reform

Illinois lawmakers ended the spring legislative session Friday without passing comprehensive pension reform.

The house and senate could not agree on dueling pension plans…leaving the state with no solution to it's nearly 100 billion dollar pension mess.

House Speaker Mike Madigan told lawmakers they would keep plugging along.

Some lawmakers say the governor should call a special session to keep them in town and get the job done.
