St. Rep Mark Messmer to Seek Indiana Senate Seat

State Representative Mark Messmer of Jasper has announced his candidacy for the Indiana State Senate.

Messmer is serving his third term as State Representative in District 63.

He will be seeking the Republican nomination for Indiana Senate District 48 in the May 2014 Primary Election, now held by Democrat Lindel Hume of Princeton.

Hume announced earlier this year he will not seek re-election.

Messmer says if elected to the Indiana Senate he would focus on strong family values and economic growth and job creation, two issues which he says are the keys to long-term prosperity.

Meanwhile, Warrick County businessman Todd Metzger of Boonville announced earlier he will seek the republican nomination for Senate District 48.
