Federal Charges Filed in String of Evansville Robberies

Federal prosecutors have filed charges against an Evansville man accused of being involved in a pair of Evansville-area robberies earlier this year.

39-year-old David Nalley has been indicted for robbing a pharmacy and a convenience store.

U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett says Indiana has seen a marked increase in the number of criminal acts targeting pharmacies and pharmacy workers.

In 2012, Indiana led the country in terms of the number of pharmacy robberies committed, continuing a multi-year upward trend.

Hogsett said there were many reasons to explain the numbers, including the increased prevalence of substance-abuse problems related to prescription drugs.
