Indiana State Police Warns Public of Scam

Indiana State Police are investigating two separate incidents in the Evansville area in which money has been handed over to an unknown man claiming to be a landlord who is about to evict his tenants.

Indiana State Police Detectives believe the person will continue to scam others if given the opportunity.

On two occasions, the man has called the pastor of a church and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society claiming a family was going to be evicted unless they came up with money.

On both occasions checks were handed over to the person who was acting as the landlord at the time
