Feds Bring Charges in Multi-State Car Theft Ring



The U.S. Justice Department is charging more than 20 people in connection with an alleged multi-state car theft ring. 

ABC News reports the alleged car thieves used a number of fraud schemes to simply drive more than 100 cars off dealer lots including bogus loan papers, fake titles from an Indian nation and phony repair shop liens.

Authorities alleged that since 2008, the defendants boosted luxury cars, SUVs and pickup trucks from dealerships and individuals in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. 

Nearly 130 cars are listed in the 74-page indictment.
