Governor Mike Pence is directing flags at state facilities in Daviess County to be flown at half-staff to honor fallen Indiana soldier Army Lt. Col. Don C. Faith, Jr. of Washington., who died in the Korean War and whose remains were recently recovered and identified.
Flags should be flown at half-staff on the day of his funeral, Wednesday, April 17th, which will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
Governor Pence also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff to honor Lt. Col. Faith for his courageous service in both World War II and the Korean War.
Faith, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was awarded the Medal of Honor after being mortally wounded at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
His remains were identified following a 2004 mission to North Korea.
