Shots Fired Call Leads to Drug Charges Against French Lick Man
A French Lick man is facing several drug charges following a report of shots fired at a residence in Loogootee early Wednesday morning.
Indiana State and Loogootee Police along with Martin County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 23-39 Rutherford Road where they found 25-year-old Nathan Purkhiser in a vehicle.
Police say Purkhiser fired several shots from a handgun in the backyard of his girlfriend after the two got into an argument.
Police found a 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a 22 caliber revolver along with several illegal drugs.
Purkhiser was arrested on seven preliminary counts, including Dealing in a Schedule One Controlled Substance and Dealing in Methamphetamine.
Other charges include Possession of Schedule One and Four Controlled Substances, Possession of Meth with a Handgun, and Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.
