Two New Troopers Assigned to Bloomington Post Receive Patrol Cars
Two new probationary troopers assigned to the Bloomington State Police Post received their patrol cars this week.
Trooper Randy VanArsdale and Trooper Michael Tummers are among 47 new troopers who graduated from the 72nd Indiana State Police Recruit School in December.
The new troopers then completed a three month field training period with seasoned troopers.
Trooper VanArsdale 36, is a native of Freedom, IN., and a 1994 graduate of White River Valley High School in Greene County. VanArsdale attended Ivy Tech State College. Trooper VanArsdale served as an Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Inspector before becoming the Gosport Town Marshal. VanArsdale and his wife reside in Owen County and have six children.
Trooper Michael Tummers is a native of Mooresville, IN, and a 2002 graduate of Mooresville High School. He later attended Ivy Tech State College. Trooper Tummers served in the United States Army for five years before becoming an Indiana State Trooper. Tummers and his wife reside in Morgan County and have two children.
