Daviess County Treasurer and long-time county Republican Chairman Martin Mumaw III has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is resting at home on hospice care.

In a news release, Mumaw says he wants to thank everyone for the cards, notes, phone calls, offers of assistance, transportation, visits and prayers received during his illness. Mumaw says he has fought the good fight and is at peace with his diagnosis.
