She was born April 8, 1919 in York Pennsylvania to Walter & Mary Jane (McGinnis) Sickler.
Margaret worked in the counseling department at Mt. Clair State College in Mt. Clair New Jersey. She enjoyed the outdoors, reading, flower gardening, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children; William (Sharon) Day of Griffin, GA, Marianne (David) Wharton of Oxford, MS, Phyllis (Jeffrey) Johnson of Vincennes, and Barbara Day of Newton, MA; her grandchildren, Anne Day (Stephen) Smith, Samuel Day (Dena Roberts) Wharton, Emily Margaret Wharton, Renee Lynne (Kent) Rerko, Gregory Maynard Johnson, Maggie Lynn Burdeno, and Daniel Raymond Burdeno; two great grandchildren and one on the way.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, her husband, Harry Pershing Day whom she married March 6, 1943 and died on June 26, 1995, and a brother, William Sickler.
Services will be held at a later date at the Rocky Gap National Cemetery in Cumberland, Maryland.
