Loogootee Woman Injured in Two Vehicle Crash

A Loogootee woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning.

It happened at the intersection of County Roads 350 East and 200 North in Daviess County.

Indiana State Police say 75-year-old Betty Lewis of Loogootee was northbound on 350 East when she failed to yield the right-of-way to a car eastbound on 200 North driven by 18-year-old Brittany Martin of Washington.

Lewis was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of head injuries.

Martin was not injured.

Police say both drivers were using seatbelts.

Lewis was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.
