The annual Red Skelton Clown Follies in Vincennes will not be held this year due to a lower than expected number of clown school participants for this year's event. 

However, the Skelton Festival will be held as usual in June.

Clown School officials say the number of participants would not have covered the costs of clown school instructors. 

However, they emphasize the actual Festival will go on -- including the Hobo Stew, the World's Largest Birthday Party, and Parade of a Thousand Clowns.

The Festival is part of the Vincennes comedian's 100th birthday celebration.

The celebration will will continue with the opening of the Red Skelton Museum in July.
