Head of Dubois Co. 911 Center Faces Suspension Over Sirens

The director of the Dubois County 911 center will lose a week's pay because dispatchers failed to sound storm sirens during a January tornado warning.

The Dubois County Commissioners have voted to place director Janet Love on a week's unpaid suspension.

Love's suspension won't occur until March in order to allow the 911 center to schedule around it.

Commissioner Doug Uebehlor says the sirens failed to go off January 30th because steps explaining what to do in cases of tornado warnings weren't included in the procedures dispatchers follow.

He says the situation has been corrected.
