In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a woman knocked on an apartment door in Evansville asking for a person by name.

When the tenant told her that person did not live there, a man wearing a mask struck the tenant with a gun.

A second masked man pointed a gun at a second tenant at the Mission Viejo Apartments.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department says the suspects then fled the area.

The injured tenant was taken to an Evansville hospital for treatment of Injuries.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with any information on the incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 421-6339.
