The Indiana Senate voted unanimously Tuesday to approve State Senator John Waterman’s bill to strengthen Indiana’s human trafficking laws. The bill now moves to the house for consideration.
The Shelburn Republican says the bill would make it a crime to arrange for anyone 18 years of age or younger to participate in any sexual act or forced labor.
Currently, the protection extends only to children 16-years-old or younger and does not cover unlawful performances of a sexual nature.
