Cursive Writing Bill Passes Indiana Senate

The Indiana Senate has approved a bill requiring schools to teach cursive writing.

The bill passed Tuesday despite arguments from some senators that it's an unwarranted state mandate on local districts.

The Indiana Department of Education dropped cursive as a requirement in 2011 in favor of one on keyboard proficiency.
