Indiana State Police say one person has died from injuries received in Thursday 40 vehicle chain reaction pile-up on I-70 near Plainfield.Dead is 25-year-old Harkirat Sohal of Ontario, Canada.

23 semi tractor trailers and 17 passenger cars were involved.
There were a total of 23 vehicles involved in the crashes on west bound I-70 and 17 vehicles involved in the crashes on east bound I-70.
Police say blowing snow apparently contributed to the accident which closed both east and westbound lanes for over five hours.
Meanwhile, three elephants are on their way to the circus after being briefly stranded on Interstate 70 yesterday.
Police say the animals were on a semi heading eastbound toward Indianapolis when it slid off the road.
The elephants were loaded onto the roadway while crews pulled the semi out of the median.
