The Bicknell City Council voted last night to borrow $25,000 from the city's Industry and Clinic Fund to help offset a nearly $300,000 deficit.
The money will be used to cover the next payroll and pay some bills.
Again, council failed to enact a long term budget solution, something Council President Butch Byrer is frustrated with…
Less than five years ago, the City had a nearly 800,000 dollar budget surplus.
Byrer said that as the city's expenses increased, their revenues did not, and were left unchecked.
In part, Byrer blamed neglected tax rates and utility fees for the current deficit.
For now, Council's plan is to borrow internally as needed until the June tax draw, or until it can obtain a tax anticipation loan.
