The Illinois House approved a bill Tuesday letting illegal immigrants in Illinois get a driver's license.The legislation passed on a 65 to 46 vote…creating a renewable temporary driver's license for illegals living in Illinois.
Those applying would be tested and have to carry insurance.
State Representative Lou Lang of Skokie says the issue isn't about immigration … but traffic safety.
Governor Quinn applauded lawmakers on passage of the bill and says he looks forward to signing it into law.
