One state lawmaker says Hoosiers should be able to lawfully carry guns on college campuses.

Republican State Senator Jim Banks of Columbia City says his bill would help students while also making faculty members feel safe.

The bill would apply to only public university campuses, and would allow anyone who has a license to carry a gun to keep it on campus.

The bill has been assigned to the Rules Committee, which is where many bills are sent that don't get a hearing.
