On Dec 1st from 1 to 4 PM the greencastle parks and Rec dept would like to invite everyone to come celebrate the season and help grow the holiday light display. This year they will have music from 1 to 2 PM at the bob flanigna Band Shell, followed at 2 PM with a live nativity. Then at 3 pm the kids can welcome Santa and his newsest camel, Mr. King James. Santa will visit with the kids until he departs to the north pole at 4pm. Photos can be purchased from a photographer during the visit. Hot Chocolate and cookies will be available for purchase, and a donation jar will be set up, all to help “Light the Park” “light the Park” is the greencastle parks and rec dept's annual holiday fundraiser. This annual fundraiser helps grow the light display in the park during the holiday season. IN 2009 they lit one large tree with the help of santa and his reindeer misfits, and continue each year to add a little more to the display, until sometime soon they can “Light the Park” entirely.
