Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of US 231 and State Road 62 in Spencer County.

State Police say 50-year-old William Arnold of Oakland City was eastbound on State Road 62 crossing US 231 when he pulled in front of a northbound semi tractor trailer.

Both vehicles ended up in a ditch after impact.

Arnold, and his two passengers, 20-year-old Jamie Abell of Petersburg and 20-year-old Joshua Bailey of Oakland City, were taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville for treatment of cuts and internal injuries.

The driver of the semi tractor trailer, 59-year-old Harvey Carter of Sardina, Ohio complained of pain but refused medical treatment. 

William Arnold was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
