AFSCME officials say Illinois Governor Pat Quinn's budget cuts are going too far. 

Quinn is expected to announce today he wants to close 14 state facilities in an effort to get the budget under control.

AFSCME's Anders Lindall says the cuts are harming priorities like public safety and care for the most vulnerable. 

He says closing the facilities will put thousands of people out of work. 

The closures include the Tamms Supermax Prison, six adult transitional centers, Singer Mental Health Center, the Murray and Jacksonville Developmental Centers, and Juvenile Justice Centers in Joliet and Murphysboro.
