School Start Bill Stalled in Legislature

A bill that would largely prohibit Indiana's public schools from starting their school years until late August has stalled in the state Legislature, though its sponsor says he'll try to revive it.

Supporters say such a law would allow more time together for families and boost the state's tourist and recreation sites.

Opponents say such decisions should made by local school boards.
