Community Calendar 4 July 2009, Saturday Vincennes Fire Fighters** Vincennes Fire Fighters Local 664 is having a Fourth of July celebration CARNIVAL. There will be food, crafts and lots of rides in the area around Patrick Henry Square in Vincennes. For details call 881-6832. County fairs COUNTY FAIRS are taking place today in Jennings, Pulaski, St Joseph, and Shelby counties. Vincennes Farmers Market** The Vincennes FARMERS MARKET is now open in the Riverfront Pavilion at 2nd and Busseron Streets. Fresh, local produce is available on Wednesdays from 7 until noon and on Saturday from 8 until 1pm. Alfordsville Christian Church The annual July 4th Celebration for the Alfordsville Christian Church will start at 5pm. There will be lots of food, games a Gospel concert and a fireworks display. The event is at Jeremiah Park in Alfordsville. Bring your own seating. City of Washington** All city offices in Washington will be closed in observance of the 4th of July holiday. There will be no trash pick up, bus service and the recycling center will be closed. Residents with friday trash pick up should have their trash out and ready by 7am on Monday. For details call 254-4564. Luke House Music** There will be a MUSIC FUNDRAISER to benefit the Luke House on Saturday, August 1st. it will be from 4 until 10pm at the Sullivan County Park and Lake. There will be food, a silent auction, dunking booth, music and more. Bring your own lawn chair. For ticket information call 564-1014. Otwell Ruritan Club** The Otwell Ruritan Club presents its annual 4th OF JULY CELEBRATION at the Community Center. Saturday starts with the parade at 10am, the carnival opens at 11, truck and tractor pulls start at 12:30 with the baby contest at 1, the water ball contest at 1:30, the kids pedal pull at 2, the junior Miss Firecracker contest is at 5pm, the demolition derby at 6, with the tractor pull at 7 and fireworks at dark.
